| Newton Mark Lodge opened 2026 with a quiz night at their meeting on 19th January at Bryn, Masonic Hall. Lodge secretary WBro Eric Payne had invited WBro Derek Gaskell to entertain the Lodge with Derek’s Mark Quiz. The Quiz is a cross between Master Mind and Crackerjack; serious but, most of all, fun. | |

| Worshipful Master, WBro Lucas Kelly opened the Lodge and got the minutes approved, before VWBro Ian Nairn lead the salutations to VWBro Arthur Robinson who had been promoted to Past Grand Junior Overseer since the last meeting of Newton Mark Lodge. Arthur thanked the brethren for their good wishes, in his usual modest way. | |

| Then it was time for the Mark Quiz. There were some virtual prizes, which included Lucas’s orchids; a barber shop quartet and Arthur’s Jaguar. The quiz was enjoyed by all those who took part. | |
| Following the quiz it was time to elect the offices for the ensuing year, with WBro Andy Hall being declared Master Elect and WBro Lucas Kelly declared treasure elect. | |

| There was a raffle for a bottle of Gin during the festive board with the proceeds going toward the 2038 festival. (I might need a lift to that meeting because I will 91!) | |
| Newton Mark Lodge’s next meeting will be the Installation meeting on 16 March. | |
